The members of REC entrust the elders to meet with each person who is interested in joining REC. There are many purposes for this meeting.
First, this allows potential members the opportunity to ask any questions that came up after taking the membership matters course.
Second, it allows an elder a chance to hear one's understanding of the gospel and assent to the gospel.
Third, the elder and potential member can discuss what it looks like to be involved at REC. In particular, how might a potential member serve and be served as part of the REC family.
