What To Expect
We understand our gathering to be the most important time in the life of the church each week. These services include a central time of expositional preaching, corporate singing, responsive readings, and reciting together statements of the Christian faith.You can expect to sing both ancient and modern music. We do not have a preferential music style, but we seek to sing songs with lyrics that are faithful to Scripture and helpful in leading us to worship.We understand God to use the preaching from His Word to speak to our hearts. Our worship should be a time of receiving this revelation and responding appropriately. This may be thanksgiving, confession, or adoration. Childcare is provided for children under 5 during the gathering. Children age 5 and over are encouraged to worship with their families in the gathering for the duration of the service. We desire to work with parents to prepare children to participate for the full duration of the service. As such, at a parent's discretion, we allow children age 5 through the end of the second grade to leave the service before the sermon and spend the rest of the service in the child care area. We do not provide a lesson or curriculum but provide activities. Also, to assist in this effort, we teach a six week curriculum twice a year that explains to children the components of the service and how we should respond.
